Every Cause has a victim

Every martyr has a cause

Every militant wants to be a martyr

Every blade has a prey

Every bullet has a target

Every beginning has an end

Every uprising will have a downrising.

Political to our times and unique to the new imaginative style of Shrikar Madirazu, "The Downrising" takes you through a realm of pure cinimatic suspense and intrigue.

Look for more great works in the future from Madirazu who's rising talent gives a breath of fresh air to the IF market.

The efforts of lot of people involved would not go waste. This is my gut feeling. I am one of those who was a part of the project. Appreciate Srikar Madiraju and Srikant for not letting this effort die down and taking this up again.

A piece of advise. Concentrate on the sound, cut short the crying scenes and the 9 11 backdrop.

Downrising has a great concept. very good storyline. The execution was not to perfection because of the budget and other constraints. It is a great attempt. Keep on getting better Shrikar.

This movie has offended some values. Please use caution

The girls were good, the agents were goofy but fun. Some nudity would have helped

I thought that the movie was great. It provided a very interesting and relevant insight into a 'social issue' that we are facing in today's world. It was an opportunity to look at the issue through the eyes of a community that I am not part of instead of the steady stream of tv movies that we have seen lately.

I am not a cinematic expert but I watch enough movies to see something in a good one and this is one of them. I would strongly recommend my friends to watch it.

A lot of scenes were shot very well and some were not that good. Unique story and some decent acting and this is why I watch indepenedent movies.

The Downrising is an ambitious second film from a daring director who elicits impressive performances from his extensive, talented cast. The soundtrack is simply gorgeous and complements the action best in the scenes where it alone is the voice, tells the story. I, too, feel a couple of scenes go on a bit long where they just do not need to--where images, movements, and just a few subtle details would do more than long speeches or tirades. I am anxious to see the re-edited product and, of course, the directos' next offering.

The DownRising had a great turn out last year at the opening but I have'nt heard anything about it till now. I have had several people ask me about how to view the DVD. Could you tell me where I can expect to get a copy..are you selling it on Amazon or is it available on Netflix?

The story line of this movie was very good. The scenes were well thought out and script was well written. The movie needs a lot of polishing to get a professional touch.

I would like to see the edited version

Tuesday, 23 August 2005 - 9:07 AM EDT

purchased the sound track and the music was very good. I saw the movie and was a little dissapointed. The story and trailer
were very good but the film had a lot of rough edges. believe so because of the low budget. But edited versions should make the movie a better product. all the best

Editing some scenes should help the movie to be a B grade movie. I consider the version to be C grade.

Thank you all for your comments. The actors, the producers and crew worked very hard for this movie. The screening in Sept 2004 showcased an unfinished version of the movie. The latest version will be much much better. We are also tying up with Amazon to distribute the DVDs.

First of all, Hindus don't look like Muslims. Now whiteys can not tell the difference between middle eastern and some curry eating, vigina worshiping ugly little hindus, so I don't blame them. Now who is terrorist, these Hindus are the biggest terrorist ask just Kashmiri people.

This movie was made not to offend anyone nor to distinguish Hindus, from Muslims and whites. This movie was made to understand that  differences exists between religions, cultures and regions.
